Set up your phone for web-based email - Vodafone Smart Chat

You can send and retrieve email messages from a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for web-based email.
Before you can set up your phone for web-based email, you need an account with the required email provider. If you don't have an account, you can set one up on the web page of the email provider.

Please note that the steps below are based on a web-based email account. If you have a POP3 email account, you need to use the settings for POP3 email. Click here for information on how to set up your phone for POP3 email.

Press Authentication type.

Key in default and press OK.

Save and activate data connection

Press the Menu key.

Press the field next to Vodafone Mail to fill in the field.

Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

Find "Email"

Press the menu icon.

If email accounts have been created already, press the account name. Press the Menu key. Press Add account.

Key in your email address (such as name@provider.com).

Press Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.

Press the drop down list below Email checking frequency.

Press the drop down list below Message number per download.

Press the required setting.

Turn synchronisation of deleted email messages on or off

Press Synchronize deleted message by server.

When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.

Key in a name for your email account

Press the field below Your name (displayed on outgoing messages) and key in the required sender name.

Press Done.
Wait while your phone retrieves new email messages.

Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

Key in Vodafone Mail and press OK.

Enter APN

Enter country code

Press MCC.
