You can select which network modes your phone can use. This setting determines the data speeds you can achieve. Follow these instructions to change network mode.

Find "Service selection"

Press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Networks and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Service selection and press the Navigation key.

Choose network mode

Highlight WCDMA or Auto and press the Navigation key.

3G enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using GSM.
If you select WCDMA, your phone can only connect to 3G networks.
If you select Auto (auto mode), your phone automatically switches between the two network modes provided that you're within range of a 3G network.

Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Find "Service selection"

Press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Networks and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Service selection and press the Navigation key.

Choose network mode

Highlight WCDMA or Auto and press the Navigation key.
