Set up the phone for web-based email - Vodafone 553

You can send and retrieve email messages from a web-based email account, e.g. Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail. Follow these instructions to set up the phone for web-based email.
Before you can set up the phone for web-based email, you need an account with the required email provider. If you do not have an account, you can set one up on the web page of the email provider.

Please note that the steps below are based on a web-based email account. If you have a POP3 email account, you need to use the settings for POP3 email. Click here to see how.

Press the Menu key.

Press arrow right below Auth. type to select Normal.

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Press E-mail account setup.

Create new data connection

Press Options.
Press Add.

Enter name

Key in Vodafone Mail
Vodafone 553

Enter APN

Press the field below APN.
Key in live.vodafone.com

Select authentication type

Press arrow right below Auth. type to select Normal.

Save data connection

Press Done.
Press Yes to confirm.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Press the Menu key.
Press E-mail.
Press E-mail account setup.

Create new email account

Press Options.
Press New account.
Press Yes to confirm.
Press the required provider.

Enter email address

Press the field below Email address and key in your email address (e.g. name@provider.com).

Enter username

Press the field below User name and key in the username for your email account.

Enter password

Press the field below Password and key in the password for your email account.
Press OK.
Press No.

Select setting for retrieving new email messages

Press E-mail account setup.
Press Options.
Press Edit.
Press Advanced settings.
Press Account settings.
Press arrow right below Check interval to select the required period.
Press Done.
Press Yes to confirm.

Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.
