Cause 2 of 2: The outgoing mail server isn't accessible from a mobile network

If you try to use an outgoing email server other than the one provided by Vodafone, it might not be accessible from the mobile network.

Solution: Use the outgoing server provided by Vodafone.

Key in a name for your email account (such as "Private" or "Work") and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to User ID and key in your username.

Scroll to Password and key in the password for your email account.

Scroll to Server type and press Navigation key right to select POP3.

Scroll to Incoming server: and key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Scroll to Secure connection and press the Navigation key to turn off the function.
When the box next to the menu item is empty, the function is turned off.

Press Next.
Your phone logs on to the email account.

Scroll to Set name and key in Vodafone Mail

4 Enter APN

Scroll to Access name and key in live.vodafone.com

5 Save data connection

Press the Navigation key to save the data connection.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Press Menu.
Scroll to Messages and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Email and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Email profiles and press the Navigation key.

7 Select data connection

Scroll to Vodafone Mail and press the Navigation key.

8 Create new email account

Scroll to Email accounts and press the Navigation key.
Highlight an empty slot on the list and press Options.
Scroll to Add and press the Navigation key.
Press the Navigation key to continue.
Highlight Other email accounts and press the Navigation key.

9 Enter email account name

Key in a name for your email account (such as "Private" or "Work") and press the Navigation key.

10 Enter email address

Key in your email address.

11 Enter username
