You can't send text messages - BlackBerry 8520 Curve

Cause 1 of 5: Fixed dialling is turned on

Fixed dialling allows you to select which numbers your phone can call and send messages to. When fixed dialling is turned on, you can only make calls and send messages to fixed numbers.

Solution: Turn off fixed dialling.

Step 1 of 8

Find "FDN Phone List"

Press Connect.

Find "FDN Phone List"

Press the Menu key.

Find "FDN Phone List"

Scroll to Options and press the Navigation key.

Find "FDN Phone List"

Scroll to FDN Phone List and press the Navigation key.

Activate or deactivate

Press the Navigation key.

Activate or deactivate

Highlight Enable FDN Mode or Disable FDN Mode (depending on the current setting) and press the Navigation key.

Step 7 of 8

Activate or deactivate

Key in the PIN2 and press the Navigation key.

Step 8 of 8

Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

1 Find "FDN Phone List"

Press Connect.
Press the Menu key.
Scroll to Options and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to FDN Phone List and press the Navigation key.

2 Activate or deactivate

Press the Navigation key.
Highlight Enable FDN Mode or Disable FDN Mode (depending on the current setting) and press the Navigation key.
Key in the PIN2 and press the Navigation key.

3 Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.
