You can select which network modes your device can use. This setting determines the data speeds you can achieve. Follow these instructions to change network mode.

Find "GSM/UMTS Network Preferences"

Press the menu icon.

Find "GSM/UMTS Network Preferences"

Press Settings.

Press More....

Press Mobile networks.

Press GSM/UMTS Network Preferences.

Select network mode

Press one of the following options:
GSM/WCDMA (auto-mode)

3G enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using GSM.
If you select GSM/WCDMA (auto-mode), your device automatically switches between the two network modes provided that you're within range of a 3G network.
If you select WCDMA only, your device can only connect to 3G networks.
If you select GSM only, you can't achieve high data speeds.
If you select GSM/WCDMA (WCDMA preferred), 3G is preferred over 2G if both network modes are available.

WCDMA only

3G enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using GSM.
If you select GSM/WCDMA (auto-mode), your device automatically switches between the two network modes provided that you're within range of a 3G network.
If you select WCDMA only, your device can only connect to 3G networks.
If you select GSM only, you can't achieve high data speeds.
If you select GSM/WCDMA (WCDMA preferred), 3G is preferred over 2G if both network modes are available.

Press the home icon to return to standby mode.
