Turn use of phone lock code on or off - BlackBerry Q10

Read help info

The phone lock code protects the contents of your phone from unauthorised use. When the phone lock code is turned on, it needs to be keyed in every time you turn on your phone and when it has been in sleep mode.

Step 1 of 10

Find "Device Password"

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top edge of the display.
Press Settings.

Find "Device Password"

Press Security and Privacy.

Find "Device Password"

Press Device Password.

Select option

Select one of the following options:
Turn on use of phone lock code, go to 2a.
Turn off use of phone lock code, go to 2b.

2a - Turn on use of phone lock code

Press the indicator next to "Device Password" until the function is turned on.
Key in the required phone lock code.

Step 6 of 10

2a - Turn on use of phone lock code

Press Confirm password and key in the phone lock code again.

Press OK to confirm.

2b - Turn off use of phone lock code

Press the indicator next to "Device Password" until the function is turned off.

Key in the phone lock code and press OK.

Return to the home screen

Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom edge of the display to return to the home screen.

Find "Device Password"

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top edge of the display.
Press Settings.
Press Security and Privacy.
Press Device Password.

Select option

Select one of the following options:
Turn on use of phone lock code, go to 2a.
Turn off use of phone lock code, go to 2b.

2a - Turn on use of phone lock code

Press the indicator next to "Device Password" until the function is turned on.
Key in the required phone lock code.
Press Confirm password and key in the phone lock code again.
Press OK to confirm.

2b - Turn off use of phone lock code

Press the indicator next to "Device Password" until the function is turned off.
Key in the phone lock code and press OK.

Return to the home screen

Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom edge of the display to return to the home screen.
