Cause 4 of 5: Your phone hasn't been correctly set up for text messaging

If your phone hasn't been correctly set up for text messaging, you may not be able to send text messages.

Solution: Set up your phone for text messaging.

Find "Options"

Press the Menu key twice.

Scroll to Text Messages and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Options and press the Navigation key.

Turn request for delivery reports on or off

Scroll to Delivery Report and press the Navigation key to turn request for delivery reports on or off.

Turn request for delivery reports on or off

When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.

Select validity period

Scroll to Validity Period and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Max and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Sent As and press the Navigation key.

Press Service Centre and key in +447785016005

Select data bearer

Press Network to Send Over and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Circuit Switched and press the Navigation key.

Save and exit

Press the Menu key.

Scroll to Save and press the Navigation key.

Press Disconnect.

Press the Return key to return to standby mode.

4 Select message type

Scroll to Sent As and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Text and press the Navigation key.

5 Save the message centre number

Press Service Centre and key in +447785016005

6 Select data bearer

Press Network to Send Over and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Circuit Switched and press the Navigation key.

7 Save and exit

Press the Menu key.
Scroll to Save and press the Navigation key.
Press Disconnect.
Press the Return key to return to standby mode.
