You can't send email messages - Nokia C3-01

Cause 2 of 2: The outgoing mail server isn't accessible from a mobile network

If you try to use an outgoing email server other than the one provided by Vodafone, it might not be accessible from the mobile network.

Solution: Use the outgoing server provided by Vodafone.

Press Menu.

Press Back three times to save the settings and return to the list of data connections.

Press and hold Vodafone Mail until a pop-up menu is displayed.

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press None.

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press Next.

Press the field below Outgoing mail server and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.

Press the field below Outgoing port and key in 25

Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages

Press None.

Press Sign in.

If no data connections have been created:
Press Add.
Press Web.
If data connections have been created already:
Press Options.
Press Add new.
Press Web.

3 Enter data connection name

Press Account name.
Key in Vodafone Mail and press OK.

4 Deactivate default data connection use

Press Use pref. access pt..
Press No.

5 Edit bearer settings

Press Acc. point sett..
Press Bearer settings.

6 Enter APN

Press Pack. data acc.pt..
Key in live.vodafone.com and press OK.

7 Select authentication type

Press Authentic. type.
Press Normal.

8 Activate data connection

Press Back three times to save the settings and return to the list of data connections.
Press and hold Vodafone Mail until a pop-up menu is displayed.
Press Activate.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

9 Find "Mail"

Press Menu.
Press Messaging.
Press Mail.

10 Create new email account

If email accounts have been created already:
Press Add account.
Press Other.

11 Enter email address

Press Mail address and key in your email address.

12 Enter password

Press Password and key in the password for your email account.
Press Sign in.

13 Select server type

Press OK.
Press POP3.
Press Next.

14 Enter incoming server

Press the field below Incoming mail server and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

15 Enter incoming port

Press the field below Incoming port and key in 110

16 Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press None.
Press Next.

17 Enter outgoing server

Press the field below Outgoing mail server and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.

18 Enter outgoing port

Press the field below Outgoing port and key in 25

19 Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages

Press None.
Press Sign in.

20 Exit

Press Back.
Press Exit to confirm.
Press Exit.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.
